Interested in getting involved backstage? Teen techies are invited to join the technical theatre program, at no cost, and learn more about the technical aspects of theatre while getting hands-on experience. Be a part of the run crew while learning about lights, sound, set and props, prompt books, and stage management. Backstage experience is essential to high school tech applications and college applications, and your time can be applied towards volunteer hours or thespian points!
Participants in the Fall 2024 tech program will get to be a part of the run crew for our mainstage production of Elf, Jr. The experience will be tailored to each student's abilities and interests, but all students will come during the show's tech week to learn about the process of moving into a theatre, setting up and testing equipment, reading and calling cues, and moving set pieces and props. Those interested in lighting and sound may also have a chance to learn about this equipment and assist the board operator. They will collaborate with the directors and student actors to help put together the puzzle pieces of the show, and they will work as a team to help the performances run smoothly.
