The Little Mermaid

June 3rd - June 14th
9 A.M. - 3 P.M.
Ages 10-18
Dance Art Media Studios*

Ariel, a spirited and adventurous young mermaid, longs to leave her magical home under the sea and be part of the world above the surface. To do so, she must defy her powerful father King Triton and bargain with the evil sea witch Ursula. Ariel's family and friends above and below the shore must come together to defeat Ursula and restore order to the kingdom. Featuring Academy Award-winning music and an ensemble of exciting characters for every performer, The Little Mermaid promises students a deep dive into every aspect of putting on a musical!

Auditions and Casting

Every student is guaranteed a role with at least one line and one solo upon registering, and our small class sizes ensure that each performer receives ample stage time. Auditions simply help us to determine where everyone will learn the most and have the best experience. Summer camp is a great opportunity for young actors to break out of their comfort zone and have a chance to take center stage, so every camper will play a featured role.

Auditions for The Little Mermaid will be held during camp in a low-pressure, working environment where campers learn audition skills. No prior preparation is required, however, music and script samples will be sent out the week prior for those who wish to familiarize themselves with the audition materials. The cast list will be sent out by the end of the night on June 4th. We do our best to find a role that each child will be excited about, but please remember that in Stagebugz shows, there truly are no small parts.  Additionally, many factors go into casting a show, and not receiving their desired role is not a reflection of a child's level of talent.
