Optional Dates (Located in Littleton):
November 1st, 1:00-3:00 PM- Set & Props Construction
November 5th, 5:00-6:30 PM- Observed Dress Rehearsal
Interested in getting involved backstage? Teens ages 12-18 are invited to join the technical theatre program, at no cost, and learn more about the technical aspects of theatre while getting hands-on experience. Be a part of the run crew while learning about lights, sound, set and props, costumes, and stage management. Backstage experience is essential to high school tech applications and college applications, and your time can be applied towards volunteer hours or thespian points! This program is offered to help increase technical theatre opportunities in the area and train future technicians!
About
Participants in the Fall 2025 tech program will get to be a part of the run crew for our mainstage production of Yes, Virginia, There is A Santa Claus. Students will be assigned specific roles on the crew based on their interests, and all students will jump in to the show's tech week to learn about the process of loading into a theatre, setting up and testing equipment, following cues, assisting with quick changes, and moving set pieces and props. Those interested in lighting and sound may also have a chance to learn about relevant equipment and assist the board operator. All tech students will collaborate with the directors and student actors to help put together the puzzle pieces of the show, and they will work as a team to help the performances run smoothly.
Dates
Tech participants are expected to attend all tech rehearsals and performances on the following dates:
November 12th, 4:00-7:00 PM- Tech Rehearsal
November 13th, 4:00-7:00 PM- Tech Rehearsal
November 14th, 5:15-7:30 PM- Performance
November 15th, 5:15-8:00 PM- Performance and Strike
Additional, optional opportunities are available to get involved with creating set and prop pieces and to become familiar with the while observing a dress rehearsal before we move into the theatre. These dates are:
November 1st, 1:00-3:00 PM- Set & Props Construction
November 5th, 5:00-6:30 PM- Observed Dress Rehearsal
*Exceptions for conflicts with required dates will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If you have conflicts and would still like to join, please email stagebugztheatre@gmail.com to request an exception prior to registering.
