Synopsis:
Cryptophasia (N)- The phenomenon of an autonomous language developed by twins that only the two children can understand.
Anna and Bella Lavey, soul mates and identical twins joined at the hip, have grown up believing that they cannot live without each other. But when Anna develops a fatal heart condition, the girls are confronted with the true cost of freedom--if such a thing even exists at all. At its core, this play explores the universality of having an identity thrust upon us, one which both binds and defines us.

About:
Cryptophasia is an original passion project produced by Stagebugz directors Aspen and Ashley Somers. We founded Stagebugz Theatre in 2021 as a 501(c)3 with the mission of creating uplifting, accessible theatre education for children, and Cryptophasia is our first community-based production with the hope to expand into an ongoing program that offers a place for underrepresented theatre professionals to share their voices and develop their own projects. This is not a project intended to make a profit for the organization or the producers, rather to bring together a group of enthusiastic creatives who want to collaborate on creating a meaningful piece of theatre.
