Harry Potter

July 22nd-July 26th

9 A.M. - 1 P.M.

Ages 8-14

Dance Art Media Studios

No muggles allowed! Learn the ins and outs of acting in this magical play based off of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. When eleven-year-old Harry is summoned to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he meets several friends who help him discover the truth about his identity and his parents' mysterious death. Campers will explore the fundamentals of character development, acting technique, and scene study while rehearsing to perform for friends and family at the end of the week. Of course, there will be plenty of ensemble-building, games, fun, and friends (and maybe even a quidditch match)!

Showcase

Harry Potter will culminate in a final performance where students can show off what they learned to family and friends. The performance will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 26th in the same location as camp.

Auditions and Casting

Every student is guaranteed a role with speaking lines upon registering. Auditions simply help us to determine which spot each performer will enjoy and gain the most from. Summer camp is a great opportunity for every young actor to break out of their comfort zone and have a chance to take centerstage, so every camper will play a featured role.

Auditions for Harry Potter will be run workshop-style on the first day of camp.  No prior preparation is required. The cast list will be sent out by the end of the night on July 22nd. We do our best to find a role that each child will be excited about, but please remember that in Stagebugz shows, there truly are no small parts.  Additionally, many factors go into casting a show, and not receiving their desired role is not a reflection of a child's level of talent.
